Hello!
We are ‘Blackbird’, thank you for taking the time to visit our website.
The company consists of Mikey and Victoria. We’ve been together since 2014 after meeting when both working in Connecticut, USA, and we’re now based in Birmingham, UK.
We take care of everything from start to finish with every Blackbird booking.
We came up with the idea for Blackbird in 2022 as a way of offering our various creative services under one roof. We both have over a decades worth of experience in our fields, and we simply love what we do!

MIKEY
Hi! I’m Mikey, and I take care of all the live music and videography.
My background is all music. I’m a singer and guitarist of over 15 years. Having played solo and in bands all around the UK and Europe. Some career highlights include sold out shows at London’s O2 Academy Brixton and The Roundhouse, airtime on BBC Radio 1, and a nomination for Kerrang! Best British Newcomer with my band when I was still a pup of only 19 years of age. I’ve been a full time professional musician for around 6 years now.
When not playing weddings you can find me playing live in lots of venues all around Birmingham city centre including Albert’s Schloss, The Botanist and The Canal House.
I started to seriously get into videography around 2020, after enjoying photography as a hobby and creating videos of various trips when travelling. The desire to step into wedding videography is what sparked the idea for Blackbird, as I was already involved in the wedding industry, and offering multiple services under one name was something that really excited me!
Apart from that I love pizza, Aston Villa, reading, fancy beers and anything nerdy like Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings.

VICTORIA
Hello, its Victoria here!
My passion lies with all things design. I currently work as an Interior Designer, I have a total of 10 years experience under my belt which includes studying and working in the residential design industry.
From around the age of 10 I always knew what I wanted to be, there is something incredible about transforming spaces and creating beautiful interiors.
I’ve designed multiple homes across the North West, Shropshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands and London.
When Mikey and I were discussing his plans for Blackbird, the idea of working alongside him was something that made us both smile.
I create bespoke wedding invitations for special couples, the same process that I apply in designing homes will apply to creating wedding invitations; from initial consultation to discussing your requirements and vision, to delivery of an invitation design that encapsulates your desired style perfectly.
Additionally to the creative side, I will be the one taking care of enquires, scheduling and booking in clients!

Our weird little pooch.
She’s a rescue from Romania, about 6 years old, and she’s scared of pretty much everything. She’s part of the business by being on hand for emotional support and cuddles, and that’s pretty much it.
